UNIM has marked a significant milestone with the successful development of its first fully self-developed, high-reliability 19nm 2D NAND flash memory for medium and small densities. Engineered entirely inhouse, the chip is set to be commercially launched in early next year. This represents a leapfrog breakthrough for the company, with technical performance now on par with, or exceeding, leading international standards.
This new-generation NAND flash—developed using advanced process technologies—supports densities of 512Mb, 1Gb, and 2Gb, with 1.8V and 3.3V voltage options, and adopts industry-standard SPI and WSON package forms.
It is designed not only to meet the reliability demands of consumer electronics, but also to satisfy stringent performance and endurance standards required in industrial-grade and automotive-grade applications, including high endurance and extended data retention. Thanks to proprietary innovations, the chip achieves:
• 40% reduction in die size
• 25% increase in I/O speed
• 70% improvement in erase/write endurance
These figures significantly outperform comparable products in its class, making it a standout in the NAND market.
